2019 Bethlehem Block Barossa Cabernet

The Bethlehem Block is located in the heart of the Barossa, and this Cabernet is grown by vigneron Jesse Auricht.

Only 2,183 dozen produced.

Barossan cabernet with a firm hand on the tiller.  This red wine is a kind of luxury in the world of cabernet's tendency to dourness.  Yet whilst there's the generosity of fruit flavour there's not the lack of tannin and requisite acidity; the wine remains - under the hand on the tiller - evenly keeled.  Steak Anglais, with English Mustard.  Deviled Kidneys?  Croque Monsieur.  No: a good Steak au Poivre with mash would be best.
